Summary: Lestrade comes home on Valentines Day. Mystrade fluff, one-shot, 221B fic.
And so, he lifted them, frozen hands shaking in the cold, up to the heavy oak door’s lock- feeling it click and slot in perfectly, feeling the low rumble of the intricate clockwork click perfectly against each other and into place as he turned it.
Mod Review: Congratulations to our 3rd Place winner of the Valentine’s Day Fic Challenge! This short 221b fic paints a sweet picture of domestic life with vivid imagery couched in admirable brevity. This fic was submitted for the Valentine’s Day Contest 2014.
Summary: Greg Lestrade helps Mycroft Holmes celebrate Valentine’s Day by going on Valentine’s missions for him, but gets frustrated when he can’t spend the day with his lover.
The elder Holmes sighed. This was Gregory’s favourite room in Mycroft’s house, and to see it so beautifully decorated – mostly through his and John’s work, but Sherlock helped at points – was incredibly satisfying. Leaving his love for half of the day tomorrow to prepare further was hard, but he knew it would be worth it. He checked his phone, and he had one message from the other man.
[text] From: [Gregory Lestrade] To: [Mycroft<3]: what time are you going to be at your place tonight?
Mod Review: Congratulations to our 2nd Place winner of the Valentine’s Day Fic Challenge! This is a very sweet fic in which Mycroft sends Greg all over the city with V-Day errands while he plans a very special evening for them both. Great writing and cute story, this story has great characterization and also some bonus Sherlock and John! This fic was submitted for the Valentine’s Day Contest 2014.
Summary: Mycroft asks Lestrade out under the pretext of doing paperwork.
Lestrade set the pen down slowly, and leant back in his chair to study Mycroft. The feeling was unnerving, seeing those dark brown eyes sweeping over him. Mycroft couldn’t work out the intent behind it, but within seconds Lestrade had flicked him a casual grin. Whatever he had seen (or deduced, Mycroft worried) had obviously been found acceptable.
“Are you trying to tell me you couldn’t have read that in a file, Mr Holmes?”
“I don’t understand you.”
A lazy hand reached out to gesture at him. “You. Smart suit, high-up government job, enough strings to keep Sherlock out of jail for life. You must have a file on little old me.”
The temptation to read it had given him insomnia, the second time he had seen Lestrade.
Mod Review: Congratulations to our 1st Place winner of the Valentine’s Day Fic Challenge! This is a very sweet “first date” fic in which Mycroft nervewrackingly texts Lestrade, and our good DI is adorably accommodating at dinner. It’s an all around well-written and nicely-paced V-Day fic. This fic was submitted for the Valentine’s Day Contest 2014.

Summary: Greg is seriously injured on Valentine’s Day. Mycroft has a tough time of it.This fic contains hollywood magical medical science, and unrealistic hospital stuff, so don’t look at it too closely. And Andrea is Anthea’s real name, according to the shooting script for SiP. It’s angsty but the ending is happy.
He hangs his head, and breathes out heavily through his nose. “I shouldn’t have allowed this weakness. It is distracting, and pointless. I have work to do, and by allowing… this… to consume me, I am failing in my duties.” He makes to stand, but his mother’s strong hand on his arm stops him.
“Do not trivialise your love for Gregory, Mycroft Holmes.” Her voice is deadly calm, rough with anger and frustration. “You wouldn’t have married him if you didn’t care for him. You wouldn’t be out here sitting in the rain like a besotted fool if you didn’t care. I know your Grandfather – rest his soul – drummed into your head that it wasn’t an advantage to care for anyone, and you took that to heart. But he was wrong, Mycroft. He loved your Mimi so much that he died along with her. He only wanted to look brave and unaffected because he thought that’s what men did.”
Mod Review: This is an angsty but ultimately happy fic in which Mycroft deals with Greg’s injury, Mummy Holmes is a breath of fresh air, and Anthea is the best assistant ever. This fic was submitted for the Valentine’s Day Contest 2014.
Summary: It’s mushy. It’s fluffy. It’s probably going to do bad things to your insulin resistance. But it could be worse. After all, Mycroft and Lestrade don’t do Valentine’s Day. Really.
They didn’t do Valentine’s Day. Lestrade said it was against his religion—that as an Anglo-Orthodox Bloke he’d be drummed out of his local pub if he fell into sin and error. Mycroft made a moue of distaste and suggested that sentiment was bad enough, and that ritualized, commercialized sentiment was rather like the detritus goldfish left at the bottom of the tank: good only for fertilizer. Neither man was comfortable or at ease with the notion of roses or chocolates or love notes or date nights—especially not as members of the madding crowds. They were adult men with serious callings. There was no room for Valentine’s Day in their lives, or in any of the roles they played.
Mod Review: This is a sweet one-shot Mystrade fic. Mycroft and Greg don’t do Valentine’s Day, except maybe when they do. Sweet and fluffy, this fic is perfect for a bit of V-Day indulgence. This fic was submitted for the Valentine’s Day Contest 2014.
Summary: Mycroft Holmes really hates being sixteen. Gregory Lestrade is the new boy in school. Teen!Mystrade AU. Friendship and fluffy things.
Mycroft shakes his head and pulls back enough to take Greg’s head in his hands. He slowly leans in to capture Greg’s lips with his own, happily sighing when they make impact. Greg holds him closer and continues to kiss his husband there on the busy street. He doesn’t care if people are watching, he doesn’t care about indecency; he hasn’t kissed his husband in three weeks. Mycroft pulls away first, taking a deep breath as he presses his forehead against Greg’s. “I hate surprises,” he whispers against Greg’s lips.
Mod Review: This is a chapter of a much longer Teen!Mystrade AU. Mycroft and Greg are in a long distance relationship and they finally have some time together for V-Day. A cute teen’verse AU, Being 16 is still in progress. This chapter was submitted for the Valentine’s Day Contest 2014.
